Intermediate & Advanced Water Polo |

Development and Fundamental Drills are
the focus of every practice session. Our coaches
are experienced at youth athlete development in the game
of water polo. "Correct" skill technique and
fundamental repetition is the process required for the
TRUE development of a player in the game of water polo. |

Intermediate Player |
|
What is an
Intermediate Player? |
A player that has
learned to "Eggbeat", catch-throw-shoot the
ball, and strategically swim the game.
Intermediate players know the rules and can
play a specific position (2 Meter Center,
Attacker, Utility, 2 Meter Defender or
Goalie).
During the game,
this intermediate player requires coaching
and specific instructions to improve their
decision process.

Practice
Sessions:
Two days per week minimum;
it is recommend that an intermediate player
that wants to become an advanced level
player increase their commitment to 3 to 4
days per week.
|
Scrimmage Games:
2 to 3 per month;
games are
necessary in the development of a players
skills. They will experience what is
working and what needs improvement.
|
Tournament
Games: Once
per session; it
is recommended that an intermediate player
that wants to become an advanced player
increase their commitment to play as many
tournaments offered.
|
Potential Cost:
$175 to $225 per
session plus tournament fee of $75.
A session is
approximately two months with approximately
16 to 24 practices, 4 to 6 scrimmages, 4 to
5 tournament games. This equates to 24
to 35 sessions with each session
approximately $9.

Advanced Player |

What is an Advanced
Player? |
A player that has
learned to "Eggbeat", catch-throw-shoot the
ball, and strategically swim the game.
Advanced players know the rules and can use
them to their advantage to improve their
ability in the game both offensively and
defensively. They can play multiple
positions (2 Meter Center, Attacker,
Utility, 2 Meter Defender or Goalie).
During the game,
this player needs minimal coaching
instructions. Coaches instructions are
more strategic oriented; allowing the player
to utilize their skills in an immediate
decision impulse.

Practice
Sessions:
Three to fours days per week.
An advanced level player must get at least
2,500 yards of swim conditioning per week.
|
Scrimmage Games:
4 to 5 per month;
games are
necessary in the development of a players
skills. They will experience what is
working and what needs improvement.
|
Tournament
Games: Once
or twice per session;
an advanced player will play both their age
division and one level up; potentially
getting over 7 to 8 games in a weekend
tournament.
|
Potential Cost:
$225 to $275 per
session plus tournament fee of $75 to $150.
A session is
approximately two months with approximately
24 to 32 practices, 8 to 12 scrimmages, 7 to
8 tournament games. This equates to 39
to 52 sessions with each session
approximately $8.
